220_F_82161662_iSAoHNezSJpOBmkiIwtH0tTYw1oL3dnbTwo weeks ago i looked at myself in the mirror and what i saw staring back at me couldn’t have been me. I mean how did i let myself get to the point where my face looks so flaky and dry with heavy bags under my eyes omg….. i felt i had lost it maybe its the bug of motherhood but on the other hand i have seen mums that are busier than i am with beautiful skin and blemish free faces.

what on earth did i do to deserve this and what can i do to salvage my face? Those where the question i started asking myself because i knew for a fact that my habits had contributed majorly.

I started taking into  account what i had been doing wrong. Do you remember those terrible under eye bags?  of course sleep deprivation will do that to you, i get less than than 6 odd hours of sleep at night which is not enough  professionals recommend an average of 8 hours.

Secondly my eating habit had become really poor i eat lots of junks sugars i down lots of fizzy drink and worst of all i eat late at night.

When ever i look at myself in the mirror i always  feel like crying literally, you know that look  puffy eyes larger than life pores and horrible blemishes that make up cant seem to cover(believe me am not exaggerating) i feel bad whenever i pass by anything that reflects my face.

I was determine to get back my perfect radiant skin. I started talking to beauty professionals with perfect radiant facial skin. These are the tips i got from them and i can tell you it worked wonders.

Facial Exercise

stock-photo-76885531-spa-theme-stones-and-an-orchid-flowerThe first thing you have to learn to do is Exercise, yes facial exercise is one way to achieve a radiant face and a well toned facial structure. When we exercise our face it helps with circulation, it brings nutrients from our skin to our face and also helps in expelling waste from our facial skin
Do a simple facial exercise by bending down and letting your two hands touch your feet, remain in this position for 3 to 5 minutes it will stimulate the facial muscle giving you a smooth radiant look.

Don’t sleep with make up on your face
I have been lazy at some point and made the terrible mistake of sleeping with makeup on my face bad  bad idea I tell you. And for one who has a sensitive skin it didn’t take long for me to see the result of that mistake.

I struggled with clogged pores pimples black spot just to name a few. Falling asleep with our make up along with dirt and pollution that has piled on during the day does major damage to our skin much more than we can imagine, it will clog your pores and lead to inflammation and breakouts before you go to bed wash your face with lukewarm water.

If you are too tired or exhausted you can use a makeup removing pad or wipes, I prefer the normal baby wipes because they have less stringent chemical. But remember that water is a natural cleanser both internally and externally and it’s a lot cheaper. Go figure!

Wash your face
We’ve talked about the importance of this above so you know that Washing your face is one way to  have a fresh radiant look but the trick is that you have to wash your face with lukewarm water this is because cold water tends to dry out the skin and hot water can strip the skin off it’s moisture.
Whether you want to use a physical scrub (you know those creamy things with some granule type things inside) or a chemical scrub it’ s up to you but when using a physical scrub avoid the ones that have chunky granules, some of them tend to be harsh on the skin and please do not over-do it (you know how people think that the harder you scrub the more effective it is? Not entirely true, just invest in a good scrub) it can cause tears and irritation. When going for a physical scrub use the ones that are equally moisturizing.

Have a good night’s sleep
You know some people make it look like if you sleep too much you are lazy? Well that is not really true because a good night’s rest aside from the benefits it gives your skin, energizes you and keeps you mentally alert.

Try and give your self at least 7 hours of sleep a day, although professionals recommends 8 hours of sleep a day, if you don’t get the adequate sleep your body requires the resultant effect will be a tired look, wrinkled and saggy skin and those under eyes bags (gosh! I hate those on my face, don’t know about you)

Eat lots of citrus fruit
I will write more on this when am writing about tips for achieving a polish skin.
Splurge on citrus. They’re packed with vitamin C, and can increase energy and alertness to your face. Add lemon to your water or down a ½ grapefruit. Add honey to make it a bit sweeter.

Minimize Stress
Try and keep your stress level to the barest minimum. When we are stressed it affects how our protective layer function. It can also cause wrinkles and saggy facial structure. Take time everyday to relax even if it is for 20 minutes you can watch a movie, listen to your favorite music or even do what ever it is that makes you happy.

Drink at least 5 litres of water a day
I started drinking 3 glass of water first thing in the morning, Of course it is something I have to work hard on because even mild dehydration can drain ones energy making you look tired and exhausted. If you want to have that smooth radiant facial skin drink loads of water it cleanses your system inside out. It works wonders.

Avoid the sun
Sun rays has harmful ultraviolet rays that can damage your skin Always protect your skin from the sun you can use sunscreen, wear large hats and also were sun glasses to protect your face from the damage of sun rays.

Always keep frozen spoon in the fridge to combat puffy eyes, frozen spoons on the eyes will work wonders on puffy eyes you can leave the frozen spoons in your eyes for 10 to 15 minutes.
